Obituary of William Charles RINEHART

William Rinehart of Calgary, AB, unexpectedly and suddenly passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the age of 60 years.

Bill was born in Calgary on September 25, 1959 to John (Jack) and Marlene Rinehart. He was active in outdoor sports and was an accomplished snow skier growing up and into his adult years. He obtained his Power Engineering Certificate and eventually moved to Rainbow Lake, AB where he connected with many deep and enduring friendships.

In 1988, Bill met his life partner, when he found Janice. Janice and her three young boys were embraced by Bill and on July 30, 1994, Bill and Jan were married. They were each other’s best friends.

Bill and Jan moved around to various northern Alberta towns where Bill continued his work as a power engineer. In 2004 they moved back to Calgary, when Bill could no longer work due to health.

Bill will be remembered for how much he enjoyed his friendships. He was enthusiastic about any activity he could do with his friends; whether a day boating or weekend camping; and he was always up for a fire pit gathering where he made sure the conversation was lively.

But most of us will remember Bill for how much he loved and adored Jan. They did everything together.

Besides his loving wife, Janice, Bill is survived by his sons, Darren (Andrea); with granddaughters, Martina and Belen, Scott (Lisa), and Brian (Patricia); his mother Marlene, older brother John (Marion) and younger sister Brenda (Mike). He will also be sadly missed by Jan’s family, mother Isabel Galbraith and father Douglas Galbraith and siblings, Laurie Longay (Rob), Shelly Graw (Garry), Doug Galbraith Jr (Leslee), Robert Galbraith (Julie).  He leaves broken-hearted his numerous family members and many friends across Alberta.

Bill was sadly predeceased by his father John (Jack).
