Obituary of Stephan KUSS

Stephan Kuss of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the age of 52 years.

Stephan was born in Oldenburg, Germany on April 27, 1968.

He immigrated to Canada in 1977 with his parents, brother and sister.  He had attended two years in Waldorf School in Dortmond.  He left public school in grade ten and started working, he liked mechanics and went back to trade school to become a heavy duty mechanic and millwright. He started working for oil and gas companies in Zama City. He liked the rugged lifestyle and in his free time enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was building a house in Zama City but became ill. He was suffering from MS and moved to Calgary, then for a short while Okotoks. In the last three years he also suffered many strokes that left him immobile and bound to a wheelchair.  He stayed at three different long-term care centres and had some very long stays in three different hospitals. In December 2019 he moved into his mother’s house and enjoyed her care. Unfortunately, more bouts of MS and more strokes made it necessary to move him into a hospice. After a short stay he passed away.

Stephan is survived by his mother Rita Frieda Kuss (nee Reinecker) of Calgary, father Bodo Max Gerhard Kuss of Langley, BC, his brother Matthias (Alison) Kuss of BC, and his sister Yvonne (Chris) Slough-Kuss of Frankfurt, Germany.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
