Condolences
I know my mother, Sheila Davis (and sister to Sydney Turner), had a long friendship with Barb, and I would often hear their phone conversations (and laughter) whenever I was visiting Mom in Victoria. When they all had lunch at the Country Club, I'm sure they commanded quite a table.
Condolences to the family, Leslie Davis
Barbie Christie is a “forever person” in my life’s memories. My Mother, Sydney, was also a Junior Leaguer and a ferocious needleworks woman, just like Barbie. The Christie family were in my earliest childhood memories as a fun-loving and vivacious group of people. The paths of their eldest daughter, Karen, and myself separated when I left Calgary and rejoined when we both lived in Ottawa working with the federal government. That friendship has been a joy to me over the years.
Barbie was always a welcoming, elegantly hospitable woman, full of spirit. She will be missed by those who knew her. I know her family was an amazing support to their Mother as the years took their inevitable toll on her, as they do with each of us. Dear Christie family, you were always walking in grace with and for your Mom. May you be blessed.
Love and light to you all, Susan Turner
Ash and I want to express our condolences to all of Barbara's family on her passing. We were only in her company a few times but they were delightful visits and she was always keenly interested in hearing about Ash's work overseas. We're sure you will all have a wealth of fun memories to share.
Lots of love
Derry and Ash
I am so thankful for the decades that I had visiting with “Auntie Barbie”- she was always an absolute spark to be with. Her incredible memory and the stories she would tell still bring a smile to my face. She was so proud of you guys. I am also thankful that she was able to live life to the fullest into her later years, and had such a supportive family, community and a special friend at Staywell. I’m sorry we won’t have a chance to gather and raise a toast to Barbie in this strange pandemic world, please know I am thinking of all of you. Big hugs! Sue (Ridley) Maxwell
Dear Liam, Mary, Jeff & Kaisa
We are thinking of you during your time of loss. I remember when Barbara had us for dinner a number of years ago which was so very kind of her and more recently when I would see her at Staywell she was always warm and friendly. A long life well lived.
Much love,
Margie & Don Stinton
My heartfelt condolences to Jeff and your family on the loss of dear Barbara. She was so proud of her family and loved to share stories when she came to Script for her special eye drops. I soon realized how charming she was and that I had met her earlier when I shopped at her wonderful needlework store. Treasure your special memories.

Liam, Mary and Family. I am sorry to hear about Barbara. When I think of her, a smile always come to my face as she was such a 'firecracker'! She always spoke what was on her mind with great intention and it was a pleasure to work with her for both her Mount Royal and Garrison condos. My deepest condolences. Corinne Godlonton
To the Christie family, I send my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your wonderful Mother and Grandmother. Barbara was such a presence in the lives of those she touched and was a force to be reckoned with. She had a wonderful caring heart and loved her family and friends. She was a dear friend of my parents John and Madge Jolly and I will always appreciate the help that she gave my Dad after my Mom passed away. We had many good times together. She lived a very full life but most of all, she loved her family. May she Rest In Peace.
On behalf of my late Mom (Sheila Davis, d. 2018) and late aunt (Sydney Turner, d. 2012), both of whom had a long history with Barbara (“Barbie”), my sincere condolences to Liam and David and the extended Christie family. Sorry for your loss. Chris Davis
