Connor FRIZZELL

Obituary of Connor MacNeill FRIZZELL

June 26, 1998 – Calgary, Alberta
September 2, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Connor Frizzell of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly from a brain aneurysm on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at the age of 22 years. Just calling Connor a good kid doesn’t do him justice. He was a spectacularly unique individual with a kind and gentle soul. He was always the responsible one you never had to worry about.

While growing up, Connor read voraciously, loved playing hockey and baseball, and going mountain biking. He was Willy Wonka and Prince Charming in school plays. He was a valedictorian. After graduating from Bishop Carroll High School, Connor had been attending the University of Calgary completing his Bachelor of Science degree, and was passionately looking forward to pursuing graduate work. He liked to give back by volunteering at different places, including CUPS and the Foothills Hospital. Connor helped support his education and hobbies by working as a bartender at The Keg. Those hobbies included building a high spec gaming computer and taking on all challengers in various video games, and being a knowledgeable and highly opinionated film buff with a love for Tarantino movies. Despite his private nature, he was a fully informed and well-read citizen who loved to engage in debate. He was Connor the quiet one who grew up in a boisterous home full of love and many animals. His cat, Winnie, slept on his lap as he studied or gamed, and he loved to take his dogs, Coco and Benny, for long walks. Many more bright chapters were still to be written.

Connor is survived by his parents, Neil and Shona Frizzell; his sister Katie, grandpa Donald Frizzell, grandma Margie Johnson (Gamma Kitty), aunt Margo Galvon, cousin Riley,  uncle Doug  Frizzell (wife Carie), and cousins, Seth and Caden. He was surrounded by neighbours who loved him as part of a close knit community. He was loyal to his close friends, and they to him. He was predeceased by his grandma Evelyn Jean Frizzell, and the two of them are happily baking sugar cookies together again.
