Obituary of Reeva Ann CHANT (nee Wolsey)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful, cherished Mom and Grandma on Friday, September 4.

Reeva was proud to have been born and raised in Calgary. She grew up in the community of Rosscarrock, where she attended church and enjoyed many family get-togethers with all of her cousins and her treasured Grandma Alvena from Cardston.  Reeva enjoyed her years as a secretary in downtown Calgary working for various oil and gas companies.  She married our Dad, Cliff, and they established their first home in Canyon Meadows where they made lifelong friendships with neighbours.  Our parents had a wonderful marriage and Dad’s sudden passing was sorrowful.  She was a loving and proud mom to Michael, Janice and Greg.  One of her most joyful achievements was attending the University of Calgary at the same time as her children where she convocated with a degree in Greek and Roman Classics. Mom loved the adventure of travel and took many trips with Italy, Canmore and Hawaii being her favorite destinations. 

Her eight grandchildren were the apple of her eye. Mom lavished them with attention and delighted in their many accomplishments.  Our Mom was the great organizer of family events and the glue for our family.  We will miss all of the holidays, grandkid sleepover pizza-LEGO parties and family gatherings at her special house.  She loved her home, flowers and yard.

Reeva is lovingly remembered by her three children and their spouses, Michael (Andrea), Janice (Tom) and Greg (Karmen); grandchildren, Majken, Erik, Liam, Caleb, Lauren, Evan, Sierra, and Makenna as well as many loved friends and relatives in Southern Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba.  She was predeceased by her husband Clifford in 1995, her mom Ann in 2002 and dad Burrell in 1962.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 1:00 p.m.   Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
