Obituary of Sarah Patricia ROSS

March 16, 1940 – Airdrie, Scotland February 8, 2018 – Calgary, Alberta It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah (Sally) Ross at the age of 77 years. Sally was an amazing woman, incredible mother, grandmother, friend and mentor. After fighting a courageous battle with cancer, she finally found peace with God surrounded by her loving family in the early morning of February 8, 2018. Sally grew up in Scotland as the eldest of five sisters. She attended St. Patrick Senior Secondary School where she received the Dux Medal as the highest ranked student in her graduating class, and finished her education at Elmwood College. She immigrated to Canada with Ian and they married on May 16, 1964. Sally was an avid supporter of Boy Scouts Canada and volunteered as a leader and trainer for several decades. She worked for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind as a capital campaign manager and made some incredible friendships. Sally will always be remembered for her generosity and unwavering positivity. Sally is survived by her loving husband Ian; three children Marianne (Paul), Allan (Staci), and Gordon (Jimmi); six grandchildren, Michael, Madison, Matthew, Liam, Cooper and Declan; sisters Marilyn (Ian) and Ann (Patrick); and numerous wonderful nieces and nephews. Sally was predeceased by her parents Charlie and Mary, and her sisters Helen and Betty. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow at the funeral home.
