Obituary of Deborah Anne EDWARDS

December 1, 1952 – Brandon, Manitoba

August 28, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend, Deborah Edwards, of Calgary, AB, on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the age of 67 years after enduring horrific suffering from the pain of cancer.

Debby was born in Brandon, MB on December 1, 1952, and as a military child, moved extensively throughout Canada, residing in three different provinces. Debby was a multi-faceted person. She played guitar and was a professional artist whose work went all over the world. As an artist, she enjoyed the wonderful range of scenery throughout her life, gleaning her ideas for her beautiful paintings from the Canadian landscape.  She began painting in 1970, in “the Land of the Mighty Peace” (northern Alberta) where she met her long-time high school friend, Mayuk L. Worthing, of fifty-two years, and later Debby met her wonderful roommate and faithful friend of twenty-five years, Ginette Audet.

The most important thing about Debby is her love for her Saviour and Lord, Christ Jesus, the love of whom she shared with others wherever she went.  Debby always left a lasting impression on those she met in restaurants, coffee shops, dealerships, etc.  Debby had a heart for people, prayer, and just loving on people.  She stayed up to date on current, and ministry events and the latest news in the life of those great numbers of friends and people for whom she cared. She enjoyed attending Christian conferences, watching ministry programs, and praying for others. Debby was a rescuer of animals and cats were her favourite.

Debby is survived by her brother, Dan (Carole), her niece Kim and family, her grand-nephew Tyler, and cousins too numerous to list. She was predeceased by her father Lloyd in 1976, mother Mary Edwards in 2015, cousins, uncles, aunts, and her niece Lori in 2015.

Debby, we will always remember you.  We love you and miss you, but we know we will see you again on the other side of the Veil.

A Celebration of Debby’s Life will be held at The Church of Immanuel (1512 1 Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Due to Covid-19 restrictions there will be no food or beverages served and everyone who would like to attend will need to register  at Google 30386382092. Graveside service will be held at a later date at Mountain View Memorial Gardens for close friends and family.
