Obituary of Nola Jean ARMSTRONG (nee VIKSE)

Nola Armstrong, beloved wife of Dale Armstrong, of Calgary, AB, left us on the morning of Saturday, September 19, 2020, at the age of 81 years, after a short, fierce battle with cancer.

Nola was born in Calgary, AB, on February 7, 1939, to Emil and Verna Vikse. In October of 1957, she married the love of her life, Dale Armstrong, after secretly holding hands in the theatre since she was thirteen. During her lifetime, Nola touched hundreds of lives with her kindness, easy laughter, and wisdom as a friend, teacher and assistant principal. Nola’s special joy in her last days was her great-granddaughter Lilah Jean.

Nola leaves behind her loving husband Dale of sixty-three years, her daughters, Lori and Kathy; grandchildren, Jessica (Cochise), Rachel (Chris) and her great-granddaughter baby Lilah; Roxann (Cody) and Dale. Also missing her will be Nola’s sister Doris (Joe) and many nieces, nephews and extended families.  Nola is predeceased by both her sons, Ronnie and John.

A Private family service will be held, and at a later date, a Celebration of Nola’s life will be announced.
