Met Joe and Jean in Grande Cache. That was in the 1980 McIntyre mine era. Grande Cache was up and down, but Joe was always a typical Irish ☘️ proud miner. I remember he always sported a cigarette and a big shiny wrist watch. We eventually lived just around the corner on 105 avenue and he would come round and drop off potato and vegetables from his garden. He had a cheeky smile, and his hair parting was always cheeky too. The Union hall in Grande Cache was always a sell out, and both Jean and Joe liked the dancing. Condolences to Jean, Liam, Dana and family. R.I.P. Joseph Parkes
