Obituary of Peter (Pete) Daniel NESTORUK

April 12, 1932 – Vegreville, Alberta
September 17, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Peter Nestoruk, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the age of 88 years.

Pete was a friend to many and father to Peter (Tracy), Carol (Rudy) and Jill. Grandfather to Ryan, Kyle (Danelle), Veronika, Daniel and Sam (Evelyn); and great-grandfather to Naiya and Lachlan.

While growing up in Vegreville, Pete’s interest in music grew during his ten years of playing piano; this developed into a love for jazz, particularly Dixieland music. Those hey-day years got him involved with a local band, the “Calgary Stampede City Stompers”. This love he had for music enhanced his life with many friends, predominantly Ray and Dorothy Adler, who consumed many a “Happy Hour” together during Jazz Festivals in Canada and the US. 

Our father spent many productive and rewarding years within the Oil and Gas sector in Calgary and Chatham, ON. He had fond memories living in Chatham, where he was able to relive a few of his childhood memories such as hunting, fishing and the love of the land. Other passions included golf, billiards, traveling, skiing, trips in his motorhome, and discussing politics while solving world issues.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Carewest Royal Park for their compassion and loving care during our father’s last years as well as all other external care givers who enhanced his life. Bless you!
