Condolences
Dear Karen, Grant and I were so sorry to hear of Ken's passing and want to send you and your family our deepest condolences. Ken was an amazing man who touched so many of us. I lived across the street from Ken in Lacombe and he was one of my first good friends. Our street was filled with children and many happy hours were spent playing hide- and -seek and other games, going to each other's birthday parties and skating together at the arena. It was so special that you and Ken were at our 50th high school reunion in 2018. We will cherish the good visits we had together. Thinking of you.

You suggest remembering the good times with Ken, and fortunately, that’s easy to do! Remember the summer (1997, maybe...?) we all happened to be in Waterton and bumped into each other that (very) rainy day? And we persuaded you to pack up your soggy campsite and stay with us at the cottage? That was the time the kids bonded so tightly over Star Wars (lol!), and we all drew close to the fire and relaxed together. I have a very specific and happy memory of Ken as he stood in the (world’s tiniest) kitchen, stirring a pot of something on the stove for dinner with a huge smile on his face, even though a state of complete chaos roared all around him — kids shouting, the dog scrabbling to keep up, other adults offering libations, and the most current angst of The Backstreet Boys pouring liberally from protesting, creaky speakers over all. I thought right then what a great guy he was, unflappable, how even a little thing had him smiling. He may have been a quiet man himself, but he didn’t insist that others follow suit. He enjoyed people for who they were, and experiences, even the simplest ones, in that way as well. You could always relax in his company, and that is a great thing.
Godspeed, Ken. We shall miss you.
Dear Karen, my heartfelt condolence. Ken was a beautiful soul and may he rest in peace. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Karen,
Although we won't be able to share your memories and say goodbye to Ken with you today, be assured that our thoughts will be with you, Leslie and Robert.
I have also found a majestic tree this morning, which I will now call Ken's tree in Portugal.

Sad to hear of the passing of Ken. Condolences to his family.
He was a good decent person with a friendly smile and wry sense of humour. I knew Ken from his running days at university and his working days at Husky. Fondly remembered by Rick, Larry, Neil and Mitch.
Trekked Nepal with Ken and Karen , their company made it a great trip. I was stunned by what happened to Ken. My thoughts are with Karen and your family.

So sorry to hear this tragic news. Sending sincere condolences to Karen, Leslie and Robert. I, too, was a classmate of Ken’s at Lacombe Composite H.S. I had the pleasure of getting reacquainted at our High School reunion three years ago. A brilliant mind and a gentle soul left us too soon. Thinking of his family
My sincere condolences to Ken’s family. I went to school with Ken for 11 years in Lacombe. Remember his father too as he ran the feed mill and then became a great teacher as well. We weren’t close but we always got along fine. The thing I remember most about Ken was that with those long legs he could run like a deer and I could never beat him in the long distance runs at our track meets. So sorry my friend.

Hello Karen and family;
We are extremely sorry to hear about Ken. Our entire family knew all the Hedlins, Ken always sat two desks in front of me throughout Elementary, Junior High, and High School. His father taught me Physics, and my younger brother Bob and Russ were best friends for many many years. Our thoughts are prayers are with you and your family.

My deepest condolences to you for the passing of Ken. Ken and I were childhood neighbors in Lacombe. Ken was born 3 weeks after myself. He and I chummed around for 7 years before my family moved to Calgary. He was my first best friend!
My sincere condolences to Karen and family for your loss. He was a great man. One who made a great difference in life for all who new him. I have great shared memories of him. We curled together a number of times and one of the best leads a team could ever have. That is the way I will always remember him "Making us all the best we could be in his presence". Rest in peace my friend.
