Condolences
It is with great disbelief when Sharon and I learned about Polek’s passing. He just invited us to his place for coffee in mid September of this year! As you all probably know, when Polek says: “come over for coffee”, it will be a table full of nuts, cakes, liqueur and a big pot of coffee. In a few occasions, I told him we would go out for coffee and we ended up fighting for the bill – I thought this is only a Chinese tradition!
I have known Polek for 33 years. We used to play tennis at least once a week. Even in these last few years, his knee problem didn’t deter him from playing with a limp. But we gradually discontinued playing last year. I will always remember Polek as a very intelligent, calm, and methodic engineer. I will dearly miss his genuine friendship, his hospitable Christmas gatherings, and the long lunches at his favorite Polish Canadian Cultural Center, and the restaurant at the former Fire Station on 9 Avenue SE. In closing, we like to express our deepest condolences to Dorota and Mariola and family. We share your great loss and hope that your sorrow will soon be alleviated by the happy memories of his past!
My sincere condolences to Dorota and Mariola and family. Polek was a good friend, always interested in discussing just about any topic, and always willing to listen and to help a friend. He inspired me with his love of the outdoors, hiking and skiing in the Rockies, and his passion for civil engineering. I will miss him and will always remember him.
Sincerely,
Camillo Mancini
Chuck and I send our sincere condolences to Polek’s family and to the other friends that will miss him in their lives. We always admired his positive attitude and love of life and skiing. He always had a cheery word and a smile for every person that crossed his path. May you rest in peace Polek. You lived life as it should be. Sincerely, Karen Thomas and Chuck Gauthier
