Condolences
For Gerry,
With Kip gone recently and Randy earlier, you’ve now lost two brothers. Two of your own generation gone from your Gothard family, as well as your parents. I hope this doesn’t leave you feeling alone in the world, that your husband (and kids ?) will provide the support that one needs in this sad situation. Further, I hope that you and Lance are close and will get closer. Keep good, close ties with family and friends because you never know when you’ll lose someone else. Those years have begun. I wish you well. From 50 years ago…
We were very sorry to hear of Kip’s passing. Take comfort from friends and family in this difficult time, we are all there for you.

I am very sorry to hear of Kip’s untimely passing. He was a real big brother to all of Randy’s school buddies including me. We learned how to drive cars, ride motorcycles and to be respectful to our lady friends. You made your mark ol’ friend!!

My heart is saddened by Kip’s passing. I will miss the many years of hearing Kip call me “Cous” and laughing stories of adventures surrounding family and friends. Dear Mary ,Nicola, Chloe and Rob,
It is with much sorrow that we learned of Kip’s passing.
We first met in high school when Kip first moved to town. In those good old days many of us forged our friendships at Bayview [ Glenmore Dam] over the campfire to the tunes of Johnny Cash, Ian Tyson, BB King and many other musical greats. We sang our hearts out every week and dreamed our dreams, set our goals and just shared our friendships and comradery.
Kip had the fiery red hair and blazing blue eyes then and he could party but even then he had a gentle soul and a sense of wanting to make the world a better place. He did. He was so proud of his family! I loved that he was Mr. Mom for the early years and he was darn proud of it. It shows his devotion and willingness to do whatever it took to have the best family experiences he could give you. The memories you have can never replace the man but they will become a way of keeping Kip alive in your hearts forever. My heart breaks for you all. Hopefully you can take some comfort that Kip prepared you all so well for what can be a wonderful world and provided you with an abundance of love, respect and zest for life. Mary, sadly retirement for you and Kip was not to be. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Rely on your family and friends as much as you can, they will give you strength.
Love and Hugs to you all,
Leif and Sharin
Mary, my deepest condolences to you and your girls. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Mary. My heart is aching for you and the girls. You have always had a special place in our family, know you are in my heart and my thoughts.
My deepest condolences to you Mary, Nicola, and Chloe. I had the great pleasure of seeing Kip’s joy and passion as a stay-at-home Dad when I taught Nicola in Kindergarten and grade one. He was, without doubt, my number one volunteer on a field trip! It was an added pleasure to work with him as a colleague at Fish Creek School; he had such a great way with the kids and was always so proud of his girls as he kept me up to date with their accomplishments. You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
Mary, we are sad to read of Kip’s passing. We fondly remember sharing some good times with both of you at various CAPL functions.
I would have liked to attend his service but I will be away next week with Cam Fraser, Ken Cruickshank and another fellow on our annual ski/snowmobile trip to B.C.
Our thoughts and best wishes to you and your family at this sad time.
