Obituary of Allan RUUS

January 21, 1928 – Tallinn, Estonia
August 17, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Allan Ruus of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 17, 2020 at the age of 92 years.  

Allan was born in Tallinn, Estonia, and immigrated to Barons, Alberta, in 1949 before moving to Calgary in 1974 with his family.  Allan graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Civil Engineering and was a member of the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta.  

He is survived by his loving daughter Kirsten Ruus of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  Allan is also survived by his three nephews, Allan (Karen) Ruus of Nanoose Bay, BC, Mark (Sarina) Ruus of Vancouver, BC, and Alexander (Lisa) Ruus of Toronto, ON.  He was predeceased by his wife Rosemarie Ruus, his parents, Harry and Irma Ruus; his brother and sister-in-law Ivar and Lea Ruus.

A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 2:30 p.m.  Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
