Obituary of Normand (Norm) BRIERE

July 20, 1961 – Montreal, Quebec
October 17, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

On Saturday October 17, 2020, Normand (Norm) Briere, loving husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 59 years. 

Normand was born in Montreal, QC on July 20, 1961. He was an intelligent, handsome, passionate man and he loved spending time with family and friends. Normand was an exceptional father, grand-papa, brother and friend. He loved his wife and two children fiercely. 

Normand married Claudette in 1984 and they had many happy times together which included travelling, eating at restaurants, playing board/card games and spending time with good company.

Normand accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his big move to Calgary in 1996 to further his career. He demonstrated an unwavering commitment to provide excellent sales service to all his clients. 

Normand had a passion for bird viewing and whistling alongside them. He also enjoyed watching his children play sports and attending professional sporting events. Normand loved travelling to warm places and his most memorable vacations were his annual trips to Mazatlan, Mexico. 

He will be most remembered for his quick-wit, infectious smile and his kind spirit.

Besides his loving wife, Normand is survived by his two children David (Vanessa Briere) and Alexandra (Christopher Emslie); and his two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Georgia.

Normand is also survived by his sister Sylvie (Daniel Thibault); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Normand was predeceased by his father Real Briere and mother Pierrette Bernier.
