Obituary of David Robert Leslie OWEN

David Robert Leslie Owen passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2020, at the age of 66 years.

David embraced life with smiling enthusiasm. He had a passion for classic cars, car shows, and motorcycles. He found great satisfaction in landscaping, as evidenced by his well-groomed yard. He enjoyed roller skating, kicking up his heels on the dance floor, walks, and fellowshipping within his community and Church families. David loved all animals and was especially drawn to dogs. He was close to family and friends. Both single, David and Vicki shared a home and developed a very close sibling bond. He is sorely missed. David particularly enjoyed boating with friends, Leanne and Frank Hickli, and was grateful for their nautical adventures. All who knew David know he loved his food – especially turkey dinners and the bakery by the beach! David was also a hard worker, within his home and at work. He was fortunate in the past to have been employed in landscaping positions, and by Revy for sixteen years.

David is survived and missed by his sisters, Victoria (Vicki) Mary Eleanor Owen, and Susan Penelope Owen; brothers, Tom Edward Owen (Angela), and John Thomas (Esther); and loving nieces and nephews, Kerry-Ann Langell (Kyle Ames and Emma Ames), Rachel Langell, Lisa Michelle Effler, Crystaras Andrews, Natalya Andrews, Grayson (Mae Beth), Taylor (Sarah), and Michaela.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother Yvonne Marie Elizabeth Owen, his father Tom Edward Owen, and his sister Evelyn (Lyn) Louise Alexandra Andrews (nee Owen).

Vicki wishes to thank the many healthcare workers who cared for David over the years. She is grateful for the help and strength she has received from the leadership, auxiliaries, and many friends at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has been blessed with assistance, counselling, compassion, and prayers, and wishes to express her gratitude. In particular, she thanks Clyde and Kerrie Davis, Brian Spackman, Kevin Palmer, John Horne, Larry and Liana Kearl, Gary and Glenda Tagg, and Don and Marilyn Steele for their uplifting support over many years. She is thankful to those too many to name, but dearly remembered and appreciated.
