Alexander (Al) JEFFERY

Obituary of Alexander (Al) John Harris JEFFERY

August 8, 1944 – Calgary, Alberta
October 20, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Alexander Jeffery, beloved husband of Anne Jeffery (nee Livingood) of Calgary, AB passed away on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at the age of 76 years.

Al was born in Calgary, AB on August 8, 1944, at the Holy Cross Hospital. He was a very dedicated man to his family. Al graduated from NAIT in Edmonton in 1970 with a Plaster certification. He worked for himself plastering at many locations throughout Calgary including the Army base as a civilian and on many famous movie sets as a stagehand. He was a jack of all trades.

Al was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion 275 for twenty-two years at the Forest Lawn Branch. He accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of his many achievements especially his perfect lawn and his truck.

Al married Anne Celine Jeffery (Livingood) on August 8, 1998 (Al's birthday) and gained two step-children who he called his own. Kristal Hillier (Bell) or otherwise known as "Shit apple" and she would call Al "Dickweed"; and Harry Bell, whom Al would call “the Rock” from wrestling or “Ricky” from the Trailer Park Boys.

Al enjoyed sitting in the back yard in the sun with steaks on the BBQ, CC and Coke, and a cigarette at hand. He loved to work in his yard and he was known for his "lawn"! Al loved Halloween and all celebrations. It brought out the youth in him.

He loved to sit in his blue chair and watch his favourite shows of discovery, history, Married with Children, Jerry Springer, wrestling and of course the all-time favourite of the Trailer Park Boys! Some of Al's favourite music was Buddy Holly, Patsy Cline and the famous Britney Spears... Oops I did it again. He loved the Newfoundland Mummers song; he inherited that when Kristal married Andrew the Newfie aka "favourite son-in-law".  Al was born a Canadian but his heart belonged in America.

Besides his loving wife Anne, Al is survived by his children, Kristal (Andrew) and Harry (Christy) and her children, Savannah and Emily; his granddaughter Hannah (Sonny) and his granddog Mya (Aka Monster), and his future great-grandchild. He was predeceased by his father Jack, mom Agnus and his wonderful aunts, Mary and Beth.

We will miss Al’s humour and button-up cowboy shirts, trucker hats and his famous red Adidas high tops. He has engrained a memory within our minds that will never end.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

A Celebration of Al’s Life will be held next summer. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Al’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

We would like to thank the Newport Harbour Care center for the last six months of care for Al.

"You were not there when I was born and you didn't get to see my first screams, first steps and first words of mine and the beginning part of me. You missed a lot of milestones. But as for what's important, you didn't miss that much. You came into our lives, when I was confused and sad- It took a while to adjust, but you soon became my Dad!"

Love always, Kristal xo
