Obituary of Donald Steve BROWN

December 20, 1946 – San Bernardino, California
October 25, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Donald Steve Brown, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at the age of 73 years.

Don was born in San Bernardino, CA and lived in several places in the US during his youth. He attended Brigham Young University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree and later received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Northern Colorado.

He served in the United States Air Force for 11 years with the majority of that time spent as a Missile Crew Commander. He and his family relocated to Calgary in 1979 where he worked as Head of Administration in the City of Calgary Building Regulations Department.

Don served in several callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints but we are sure that his most beloved callings were working with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.

Don was known for his love of international cuisine of all kinds and fostered that love in his family. He delighted in taking people out to enjoy a meal with him. His wife, children, grandchildren, and many friends and extended family have enjoyed a “mighty good feedbag” courtesy of his generosity. He was a firm believer in service to others and many have benefited from his kind attention.

He struggled with kidney failure in the last few years of his life and he regretted the fact that his poor health limited the opportunities to serve others.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Louise, children, Darcie (Kevin) Anderson, Chris (Minette) Brown, Carey (Craig) Tuttle, and Robert Brown; grandchildren, Ethan, Liam, Annelise and Corrinne Anderson, and Patrick, Ainsley and Carter Tuttle. He will be sadly missed by them and by many extended family members and friends.

Due to Covid restrictions, there will be no funeral service at this time. A memorial service will be announced at a future time. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Donald’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

In living memory of Don Brown, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES, Crowfoot, 82 CROWFOOT CIRCLE NW, CALGARY, AB T3G 2T3, Telephone: 403-241-0044.
