Condolences
So sad to hear of Gilda’s passing nearly a year after. Gilda and family shared their Christmas with me when I was new to Ottawa in 1975. My dad (Robert Lamoureux) had fond memories of his cousin Gilda. My belated condolences. Michele Lamoureux
We are so sorry to hear of the loss of your mom. We have great memories of her here in Edmonton as a good friend of Joe & Christine Bereznicki. We remember her energy, her hutzpah!, her take-no-prisoners attitude, her shoot-from-the-hip comments, and her laughter. She was a fun-filled , successful, strong woman, and her children are the amazing legacy she leaves.
Sending our love & condolences. RIP Gilda. ❤️ Jane & Henry Bereznicki
My deepest condolences, Jeff, to you and your family. Your Mom was a real trailblazer and contributed so much to Alberta.
Our sincere condolences to Gilda Rath’s Family,
Rick and I knew Gilda as a lovely neighbor and a dear friend of our parents, Joseph and Christine. She befriended us all when she built her family home on Whitemud Road. We watched in awe as she raised her four children as a widow. Gilda always spoke of her husband Otto with love and tenderness - we unfortunately never met him. Gilda took such pride in her children and would fill us in on their many accomplishments. She was a lady who loved fun and had a lovely sense of adventure! Despite being seniors, Gilda and Christine travelled north once, to fish and camp in the wilderness. They both enjoyed a night cap and were rascals in their own way.
Gilda was a trail blazer and a brave soul. We lost contact her when moved to Calgary yet cherish the memories of many a pleasant evening in her company.

To the family of Gilda Rath,
I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I met Gilda in the 1980s when I worked with Dr. Henri Toupin, who was a close friend of Gilda's. I enjoyed spending time with Gilda when she lived in Edmonton in her beautiful home on Whitemud Road. She was a fabulous cook and I had the pleasure of enjoying many delicious dinners with her. I remember her stories of raising her children and her travels up north to camp and fish. Gilda was a strong woman. I have never known anyone who "took on the world" like Gilda. Unfortunately, I lost touch with Gilda when she moved to Calgary but did have the opportunity to speak to her back in 2015 after contacting her daughter Roslyn. My condolences to all of you..........she was a great lady !
