Obituary of Amy Lee POLLARD

Amy Pollard of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 at the age of 39, at the South Health Campus after a courageous battle with Inflammatory Breast Cancer. The outpouring of love from family, friends and colleagues supported Amy through her journey. Amy had many amazing people help her through this difficult time, especially Tanya, Rebecca, Carley, Jordie, Emily, Kim, Amber and Lisa.

Amy was born on September 2, 1981 in Calgary, AB to Douglas and Brenda (nee Hleucka) Pollard. She received her Bachelor of Management Degree from the University of Lethbridge and served as the Director of Finance and Operations at the Lycée Louis Pasteur (Calgary) French School for over twelve years.

Amy was larger than life and had a joie de vivre that made an imprint on many. As a young girl she loved Bowling, Soccer and especially Softball, carrying on with Slo-Pitch and Bowling into adulthood. After obtaining her degree, always up for new adventures, Amy travelled through Europe and South Africa making many friends and memories along the way. She continued to travel throughout her life visiting many locations, among them Central and South America and Europe.

Amy is survived by her father Douglas, mother Brenda, Nana Edna, brother Joshua, sister-in-law Lisa, two nieces Molly and Eleanor; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Amy was predeceased by her grandmother Shirley Hleucka, grandfather William Hleucka, her papa Lewis Pollard, and her aunt Shannon Drake.

A private celebration of life will be held. As per Amy’s wishes, there will be an outdoor celebration of life next spring, restrictions permitting.
