Obituary of Margarette Alice LIVINGSTON (nee McAmmond)

Margarette Livingston, beloved wife of the late Norman Archibald Livingston, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the age of 102 years.

Margarette was born at the family homestead in Herschel, SK.

Margarette was a dedicated mother and homemaker. She was a faithful Christian who demonstrated God’s love through her hospitality and care for others. Margarette enjoyed quilt making, needle work, sewing, camping, fishing, cooking, baking (beautiful bread and superb apple pie), reading, and board games. Margarette and Norman spent forty-one years in Hinton, AB where they celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, prior to relocating to Calgary in 1997. Margarette looked forward to attending church camps, visits with family and friends and going out for dinner. Her most memorable vacation was to Hawaii to celebrate Norman’s retirement, the Vancouver Expo in 1986, and North Carolina and Ontario in the mid 1980's. Margarette will be most remembered for her humility, hospitality, quick wit, resourcefulness and practicality.

Margarette is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Melody of Grande Cache, AB; two daughters, Norma and Lori both of Calgary, AB; four grandchildren, Kellie, Ken (Amber), Kurtis (Pauline) and Kaelynne(Craig); and six great-grandchildren, Seth, Kally, David, Mason, Kayla and Hunter.

Margarette was predeceased by her loving husband Norman Livingston, mother Alice McAmmond, father James McAmmond, two brothers, Bob and Ernie; and four sisters, Filby, Jean, Bea, and Edith.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 6, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
