Obituary of Francesco Antonio AMMIRATI

August 25, 1948 – Castelsilano, Crotone, Italy

October 30, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness the family of Francesco Ammirati beloved husband of, Francesca Ammirati (nee Spadafora) of Calgary, AB announces his passing at home surrounded by family, on Friday, October 30, 2020, at the age of 72 years.

Francesco was born on August 25, 1948, in Castelsilano, Italy. He moved to Calgary, AB, in 1969 for a better life, where he met his lovely wife of forty-nine years. He started F.M Concrete Finishers in 1984 until present. Francesco had a passion for hunting, fishing, gardening, his children and most importantly, his grandchildren. He was loved by anyone who knew him and was always giving his homegrown vegetables, sausages, mushrooms and his famous espresso to neighbours, friends and family.

Francesco will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Francesca, his children, Matthew (Christina) Ammirati, Lisa (Domenic) Ambrosio, Anna (Ryan) Fournel; his eight grandchildren, Antonia, Francesca, Adrian, Francesco, Guiseppe, Giancarlo, Nicholas and Matteo. He will also be remembered by his siblings, Marietta Bambino, Caterina (Paolo) Gentile, Isabella Aquila, Giovanni Frustaci, and Vincenza Cortese; and sister-in-law Maria Gigliotto. He was predeceased by his parents, Matteo and Luisa Aquila; his siblings, Rosa Ammirati, Teresa Ammirati, Saverio Ammirati, and Salvatore Ammirati; mother-in-law Anna Spadafora, and brother-in-law Giovanni Cortese.
