Obituary of Helen Emily BENNER (nee Rudolph)

July 24, 1922 - Calgary, Alberta

November 3, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

In the early morning of Tuesday, November 3, 2020, our dear and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Helen Benner, passed away quietly and with dignity, surrounded by her family.

Helen was a native Calgarian, where she resided with the love of her life, Edward. Helen was the heart and soul of her family. She had a beautiful gift of making others feel loved and welcome, most notably over food and conversations in her home. Helen had an incomparable strength and faith; she was indeed one of a kind. To know Helen was a gift that will be forever in the hearts of all who met her.

Helen is survived by her children, Shirley (Jim Malvin), Bruce (Dawn Nason), and Shelley (David Horn); grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer (Kevan), Jocelynn (Wes), Jeff (Holly), Michelle (Branden), MacKenzie, Kennedy, Jodi (Chris), and Jill (Randy); and great-grandchildren, Luke, Eric, Parker, Emery, Katie, Ella, Spencer, and Ainsley. Helen was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Edward Benner, and brothers, Alan and Frank.

A Private Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2020. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed on Helen’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Millrise Seniors Village for their endless love and care, especially during her end of life journey.
