Obituary of Gail Marilyn WITTY (nee Curry)

November 2, 2020 – Strathmore, Alberta

Gail Witty, beloved wife of Howard Witty, of Strathmore, AB, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2020 at the age of 82 years.

Gail was born in Camrose, AB on September 3, 1938.  She attended Camrose High School, later married Howard, and devoted her life to making a home for her family.

Gail enjoyed painting, needlework, rug-hooking, camping, cooking, playing cards, and had a great love for all birds.  She particularly loved spending time with her large family.  Gail will be most remembered for her kind, accepting and loving nature.

Besides her loving husband Howard, Gail is survived by her three sons, Bryan (Kathy) Witty of Valleyview, AB, Kevin Witty of Airdrie, AB, and Rob (Lynda) Witty of Strathmore, AB; her ten grandchildren, Tom (Amanda) Witty of Sylvan Lake, AB, Tim (Erin) Witty of Valleyview, AB, Candis (Mike) Marquis of Tofield, AB, Randy (Ally) Witty of Calgary, AB, Josh (Lisa) Witty of Strathmore, AB, Lucy (Marcus) Hawtin of Cheltenham, England, Nova Pierson of Victoria, BC, Laura Pierson (Denny Sarty) of Innisfail, AB, Tara-Lynne (Dustin) Ross of Lethbridge, AB, and Ian (Shanna) Pierson of Fresno, California; and her seventeen great-grandchildren, Reese, Jake, Madden, Mason, Payton, Aubrey, Bo, Charlotte, Aubree, Ryker, Isabelle, Max, Marshall, Perilynne, Elliot, Henley, and Harrison.

Gail is also survived by her sister Joan Schierman of Camrose, AB, and numerous extended family and friends.

Gail was predeceased by her parents, Mary Elizabeth and Howard Elwin Curry; five brothers, Donald, Laverne, Jim, Darrall, and Doug; and two sisters, Alma Price and Florence Curry.
