Obituary of George Edward EVENS

George Edward Evens beloved husband of Martha and devoted father to John Evens and Jane Carss, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020.

George graduated in 1955 from the University of Oklahoma with BSc in Petroleum Engineering after attending the University of Arizona and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology.  His subsequent career at Mobil Oil Canada spanned forty years, retiring in 1989.

George was a proud Canadian.

George is survived by his wife Martha, to whom he was married in 1956, their son John Evens (Sharon), and daughter Jane Carss (Robert). He was proud of the accomplishments of his son and daughter.  He is also survived by his much beloved grandchildren, Jill Northwood (James), Gordon (Victoria Purcell), Marshall, and Ross, along with their partners Rochelle Greenberg and Sara-Jay Nogel. Along with his grandchildren’s wives and partners, he also is survived by his much loved two great-grandchildren, Isla and Bennett Northwood. George was predeceased by his mother and father, Annie and John Evens.

The family would like to thank the compassionate and respectful staff at the Foothills Medical Centre.
