Condolences
I very much appreciate the welcoming vibe from the Downey family. Sad to hear of Jim's passing but glad he was with family. Hope you can celebrate the great memories you all have. I enjoyed seeing the family cabin so many years ago and value the times I continue to have with Jane when opportunities arise. Cheers to all of you in this holiday season.
Sue and family, my regrets and condolences. Many fond memories of Jim, or "J.V." as he was known around the office of Tenneco Oil and Minerals. I was wet behind ears geologist when I joined Tenneco and first met "J.V.". He was a live wire around the office known for his joke telling and infectious laughter. Jim was a very competent and ambitious petroleum geologist. Senior management in Houston Texas recognized his skills and knowledge resulting in his transfer to several foreign posting. We had a great team of "oil finders" at Tenneco in the 1960's and "J.V." was one of them. Rest in peace my good friend

Thinking of you all at this very sad time. I have wonderful memories of Jim. His smile and his convertible car amongst other things. When we were living overseas and returned to Calgary in the summers, Jim and Sue made us so welcome at their cottage at Windermere. We always enjoyed spending time with them. Jane is a dear friend (over 30 years!) and I was always grateful that she shared time with her parents with us. Jim will be missed. Sending love.
