Obituary of Marjorie Edythe BLACK (nee McBride)

Marj Black, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at the age of 97 years.

Marj was born in Calgary on August 12, 1923, to Adam and Bertha (Bert) McBride. She married Phil in Ottawa on October 1, 1949. She lived across Canada from Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes, the West Coast and the Prairies. She spent many of her summers with Phil visiting his mineral exploration camps across Northern Canada, often with her children. Marj was a talented cook, skilled seamstress and loved travelling the world with Phil. Her biggest joy in life was her husband, her children, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Marj was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-six years, Philip T. Black, and brother Russel Mcbride. She will be missed by her son Edward (Ted) Black and his wife Jeanette, son Rick and his wife Maureen, daughter Margot Edwards and her husband Don and son Philip (Rusty) Black. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Ryan Black, Luke Black and his partner Melanie, Doug Black, Jennifer Black-Moir and her husband Meric, and Claire Edwards; and her four great-grandchildren, Violet Moir, Ronin Moir, Oswyn Moir and Oaken Moir.
