It is with great sadness that the family of Maria Salata announce her passing on Monday, November 9, 2020 at the age of 58 years.

Maria was born in Calgary to Stanislaw and Albina Salata on September 29, 1962. She went to St. Francis High School and went on to become an English teacher with the Calgary Catholic School District.

Maria was a devoted mother and created a good life for her family. She made sure everyone was taken care of, that everyone had more than they needed. Maria cared deeply for her parents and placed their needs before her own. She lived a life of love. Maria loved to travel, and visited Australia many times. She had plans to move there upon retirement.

Maria was taken away far too soon and is deeply mourned. She is survived by her parents, Stanislaw and Albina Salata of Calgary; her two children, Justin Mazurek and Nicole Mazurek of Calgary; her brother Tom Salata and his family (sister-in-law Karen Salata, nephew Liam Salata, niece Kaylee Salata) of Townsville, Australia.
