Obituary of James (Jim) Mon WONG

November 8, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with sadness we announce the passing of James “Jim” M. Wong, on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the age of 85 years.  Jim passed quietly in his sleep, surrounded by his family.

Jim was one of the original employees to open the Four Seasons Hotel in 1974, where he continued to work for numerous years, as the hotel changed ownership and brands.

He will be most remembered for his love of dancing, singing (his favourite was the Tennessee Waltz), golfing and skiing, where he was a ski patroller as well as an instructor. He was witty and enjoyed joking with those around him. At Father Lacombe, Jim was known to sit in a chair at the front door greeting everyone who entered while people watching.

He leaves behind his wife Pauline; son Damon; daughter Tiffany (Brian);  his sister and brothers-in-law; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude for his care at Father Lacombe Care Centre and Chinook Care Centre Hospice.
