Obituary of Yvette (Apa) Annie Nīnàghá Tsit ł’a – Bear Child  STARLIGHT

Yvette (Apa) Annie Starlight of Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the age of 43 years.

Yvette had a charismatic smile, gave the hardest love, and touched a lot of hearts with her sense of humour. She protected all that she loved. She held her family near and dear to her heart and loved her children unconditionally. She graduated from Mount Royal College in Business Administration Accounting. She served Tsuut’ina Nation in many leadership roles including the Director of Education, Post-Secondary Coordinator, and the Executive Director of Social Well Being. She re-established the EHOA name to Healthy Living Program as she desired to take care of all people and meet their needs. As a leader she aspired to be friendly, firm, and fair. Her skills included being able to bring people together and get work done.
  
Yvette is survived by her mother Elizabeth Starlight, siblings, Duke and Jane (Pernell) ; son Donovan, daughter Chenoa, niece Myla, nephew Kayler (Alym), adopted mother Louise Laughter; numerous cousins, aunties, uncles, adopted children and close friends. Yvette was predeceased by maternal grandparents, Late Chief James and Mrs. Mary Jane Starlight, paternal grandparents, Pearl and Ronald McHugh Sr., sister Lisa, brother Murphy and dad Blair McHugh. 

Wake Services will be held at the residence of Yvette Starlight, Tsuut’ina Nation, AB, on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at on Monday, November 16, 2020 11:00 a.m. the  residence of Yvette Starlight. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuut’ina Cemetery (Tsuut’ina Nation, AB). Drive Thru Traditional Feast to follow at Bull Head Hall.
