Obituary of Thomas "Ted" Edward FEAREY

Thomas Fearey of Calgary, AB passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020, at the age of 80 years. 

Ted was born in Calgary and has deep roots here as his grandfather moved the family from Ontario to Calgary in 1886. He grew up in the community of Rosedale, attended high school at SAIT in the building now known as Heritage Hall.

He found at an early age he had a gift for gab and negotiation, and that is what led him to a lifelong successful career in sales. He came by this honestly, as his father sold cars for Chrysler for many years. Ted spent his early years honing his craft, which started with selling cars at Stampede Motors. Next on to selling mobile homes for Neonex, and then moved on to new homes sales, selling for Shane Homes for over twenty years. He was known to be a man of his word and a handshake was a deal.

Ted met his soulmate Carna McGowan and they were married in 1965. They had two children and were happily married for over fifty years. Ted enjoyed spending time with family and was an avid fan and spectator of all his grandchildren’s various sports.

Ted is survived by his daughter Tara (Sergio) Russo; son Blair (Nola) Fearey; three grandchildren, Jonah Russo, and Quinn and Ella Fearey. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Sheila Toeckes and Nessie Hennenfent, brother-in-law Robert (Donna) McGowan and numerous nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by his wife Carna, his parents, Thomas and Madeline Fearey; as well as his sister Pat and brother Garry Fearey.
