Condolences
After meeting Marjorie at Ralph Connor Memorial United Church in Canmore, we enjoyed that "nursing bond", the senior coffee group Marj formed, LIFE group, Knee Surgery Rehab, etc and eventually both our challenging moves from the Bow Valley. Marjorie was a lovely energetic lady who valued life and all that it had to offer. She was so courageous in the face of her moving challenges and recent surgery. Such a fighter! As we kept in touch, I will miss her friendship, inspiration and our wonderful shared moments and chats. Some friends come and go in your life, others stay in your heart forever!
My sincere condolences to her very supportive family! Libby Bowes
So many wonderful memories over so many years, it’s hard to choose. It was always fun sharing her name and having to double check which ‘Marj’ was being called. All of the visits to Calgary, skiing trips and staying in Canmore, and visits later when she and Bob moved to Canmore when we were in town for the annual Highland Games with our girls. Always had a lot of fun and full of laughter with every visit. She was an inspiration to keep positive and stay active for a long wonderful life. Auntie Marj, you will be missed.

A wonderful tribute to our unforgettable Marj. Our young adult outreach here at Ralph Connor Church will be posting a tribute to Marj on their website (CYANcanmore.ca) as her vision for reaching out to young adults in the community has made a lasting impact. Many thanks to Marj and Bob for all that they shared with me as parishioners and, mostly, friends.
Our family was fortunate to be part of Marj's extended nursing family as our mum went to nursing school with her and remained life long friends. When I became a nurse Marj and I just found we had more to talk about - and Bob was so kind to let us do this anytime we visited. They were such a lovely couple, Marj bright, outgoing with many interesting thoughts and opinions and Bob with his quieter way, equally thoughtful and intelligent - I learned to listen carefully to his often funny comments.
I admired Marj so much for her endless cheerful outlook on life! A stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet! She managed all the recent changes, moves and losses in her life with so much grace. Our visits or calls always left me feeling uplifted and hopeful for what life could hold. The world would be so much more fun with more like her - she will be greatly missed!
