Obituary of Carl Anton BONKE
September 6, 1935 – November 21, 2020
Carl Bonke, loving husband of Phyllis Konrad of Cochrane passed away on Saturday November 21, 2020.
Carl was also loving husband of his first wife and the mother of his daughters, Bernice Bonke (deceased).
Carl was born in Calgary on September 6, 1935. He graduated from SAIT in 1956
and had a successful 37 year career with Shell Canada. With Shell he worked in the Yukon, BC, the east coast and Alberta.
Carl was a loving husband and a wonderful caring father and stepfather. He had amazing positivity and optimism, was fun loving and a joy to be around. He had a great sense of humour and was known for telling lots of interesting stories. He was an example of goodness in life we should all aspire to.
Carl and Phyllis had 12 wonderful years together enjoying summers at the cottage on South Thormanby Island, trips to Australia, Denmark, Palm Desert, and river cruises in Europe.
Besides Phyllis, Carl is survived by his three daughters, Janet (Leigh) Stone, granddaughters Rachael and Erin of Adelaide Australia; Karen (Tom) Molnar, granddaughters Demi and Logan, and great grandson Charlie of Adelaide Australia; Joanne (Scott) Anderson, granddaughters Morgan and Camryn of Calgary and Carly of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
Carl was a wonderful loving and caring dad.
Carl is also survived by his stepchildren Cheryl Alison Miyauchi (Jay Kline) of Nashville, Tennessee, Kevin (Cathy) Miyauchi and grandchildren Jennifer and David of Toronto.
Carl is also survived by his brother Lester Bonke of Allensburg, Washington.
Carl was predeceased by his parents Soren (George) and Mary Bonke, Brother Richard (Dick) Bonke.
A celebration of Carl’s life will be planned for post-COVID time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Kidney Foundation.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Evans and the caring and compassionate staff at the Dulcina Hospice for the loving care extended to Carl.
