Obituary of Patrick Joseph GRAHAM

October 9, 1929 – Medicine Hat, Alberta
November 25, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sadness we announce that Pat Graham passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 after a remarkable 91 years.

Pat was born in Medicine Hat and grew up in Calgary. He was the oldest boy of thirteen siblings in a close and loving family. Some choices he made early in life gave him the incentive to attend Mount Royal College where he obtained his Bachelor of Social Work as well a Bachelor of Criminology. In 1971 Pat and Bea founded The Alberta Seventh Step Society, a halfway house in Calgary, helping offenders and ex-offenders to help themselves become responsible members of the community. Pat and Bea went on to help countless people achieve and maintain their freedom. Pat was a kind and generous spirit with a deep passion for helping others. Pat was proof that people can change. Pat and Bea received numerous awards and recognition for their devotion, some of which were the Lifetime Achievement Awards, The Governor General’s Award as well as accolades from two Prime Ministers and a President of The United States. Pat was a very giving person, a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humour and he had a beautiful singing voice. Pat’s legacy would be to help others as you have been helped.  Pat will be sadly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known him.

Rest in Peace Pat.

Pat is survived by his son Colin Patrick Graham and his daughter-in-law Lori Kayle Graham, his brother Don Graham and his sisters, Fran Reddin and Carol Andrews. Pat is also survived by his sister-in-law Jean Duke, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
