Condolences
Phyllis visited PEI a few times and while there met the Pineau family. We immediately fell in love with her and totally enjoyed her feisty approach to life, she was always up for anything, anytime. Phyliss kept in touch with us for years and then low and behold her son Al marries Deb, a Pineau girl. We all have great memories of her digging clams (Mom still has the hat that Phyliss tossed aside as it was in her way), shucking mussels and eating lobster. One of our favorite quotes from Phyliss is "best lobster I ever had on a PAPER PLATE". She will be missed by all of us.

Phyllis was truly a special lady and a special friend.
We will hold on to the wonderful memories of our times together.
Her kindness and friendship will never be forgotten.
We will miss her so.
Pam and Alan, please know we are thinking of you at this time,
but truly want to thank you for the amazing tribute to your Mom.
It was so beautiful for such a lady,

In keeping with the "y" tradition, our condolences to Pammy and Ally. May your heavy burdens of today give way to fond memories, cherished love, and the comfort of peace. Love from your Toronto friends, Maria and Donna
Heartfelt condolences to Pam, Allan and the entire Denoon family spanning 2 continents. Wishing all of you comfort and peace as you mourn the passing of such a pillar of your family.
Phyllis was a special friend for so many of us. She will be deeply missed.
It has been such a joy and privilege knowing Stan and Phyllis over the many years and then sharing our Ramolli dates along with a trip to the casino, a golf outing, a birthday party. Phyllis always seemed to make it a special event.
Her comfort and empathy for me and our family will always be remembered and cherished.
A truly lovely lady in so many ways, she was a "firecracker", and that makes me smile.
Rest in peace.
A tribute from Max, Margaret, Jacqui, Paula and Lauren

Family Likeness
By Alison Jean Thomas
"You're just like them!" they say.
And me, I yell, "No way!
He's so moody,
She's so shrill,
His chin juts out,
Boy can she shout!
His nose is big,
And mine's quite small
There's no resemblance at all."
But then on days of harmony
I find that I agree.
Our family is made of different parts,
But we're all the same
In our hearts.
Vale Phyllis Denoon nee James from your baby brother Maxy
Fondly known as Phyly as all the James’ had a ‘Y’ added to the end of their name.
Big sister to Max’y’ and eighth in the line of 14 children.
Even though you lived 8,788 miles away you were always my big sister and that feeling of family never faded. We remained very close with phone calls, letters and later even facetime with the help of the kids.
Phyllis’ letters were a highlight of Christmas every year, she always wrote a bit of ‘helpful’ advice for her little brother but also conveyed such a sense family with at least ‘three pages’ full of news and anecdotes.
I have such fond memories of Christmas at Phyllis’ house at Dukes Road, Fawkner where the entire family would get together to celebrate. Such a large family with a definite penchant for celebration (and beer!) was always ripe for fun. I remember one Christmas Phyllis gave Ma a cigarette and Ma didn’t even smoke!. For some strange reason I also remember you came up with the revolutionary idea to freeze the cauliflower so you’d have enough to feed the masses, cauliflower was considered a real treat!
Phyllis loved a bit of fun and used to ride the milking cows when she lived on the farm in Drouin!
Phyllis also loved sweets from an early age. I remember Phyllis and Dorothy cooking and coming home to the stench of burnt toffee and them being told off by Ma. She obviously stuck at it as she became an amazing confectionary cook supplying her wonderful Lolly Shop in Bragg Creek. She insisted that anyone visiting from Australia had to smuggle liquorice as they just don’t have the good stuff in Canada.
Phyllis was always family first, any member of the family that visited Canada was graciously hosted by Phyllis and Stanley. Margaret and I were fortunate enough to visit in 2007 and Phyllis and Stan showed us a fabulous time at the Calgary Stampede, Banff and every lolly shop in Calgary because she had to do a delivery!
Phyllis: I will miss my beautiful, energetic and fun big sister. Even though I have a huge hole in my heart the memories will live on forever.
Pam and Al I am sooo sorry. Phillie was the gold standard of human beings. She was so kind to me and my entire family. She will be missed at the rumolli game. Her mischievous smile and laugher when she had a “payer”. I was so honored to have the chair next to her. I will miss bringing her rhubarb and the odd belt, her hospitality and the texts on any special day.
What a nice tribute it was one of my moms favorite songs by Vera Lynn. I bawled. We will meet again Phillie.....Lach
Phillie you will be missed dearly!
The wonderful times were many...especially at our home in Toronto, on the Golf course in St. Petes, Florida, the Stampede in Calgary, they are all embedded in my mind. We were silly. We said what was on my mind and then laughed out loud.
Now that you are gone I know that Stan’s arms will be stretched out and ready to embrace you near his heart. He loved you plenty and then some.
Rest In Peace mate!
I will be sure to name all the birdies I make in your memory.
Lina Risi, Toronto
I want to express my sincere sympathy to Phyllis' entire family! Your memorial tribute to her is beautiful and heartfelt. She truly will be missed by all. What an amazing woman she was, one of a kind, a "firecracker" as you say! Phyllis was so generous with her spirit of generosity, kindness, and so full of fun and laughter. All her photo opps she pursued with our local firemen will be one of my favorite super fun memories of our dear Phyllis.
Phyllis was a wonderful friend that came into my life about 10 years ago. We shared lots of happy times with her friends at Odyssey who loved her dearly. She always had that beautiful smile and a great laugh. She had so many happy stories and such a positive outlook. We spent many evenings sitting in her living room overlooking her fabulous view and having great conversations. She will be missed terribly, but never forgotten. That smile is my most favourite reminder of my wonderful friend Phyllis.
I am honoured and blessed to have had Phyllie in my life! She was a special gift to everyone that knew her. I will dearly miss our telephone calls and hearing her infectious laughter. She will remain in my heart forever! Heaven is one star brighter!
I can't even begin to express how my heart aches.
Philly was such a shining light in so many people's lives including mine and I will miss her terribly as she was like my second mum when my mum passed away. Philly bought so much joy to everyone around her with her kind words and beautiful big smile. Im glad we have our wonderful memories forever and that she's watching over us.❤
Phyllie will forever be in our hearts. She will be missed deeply. I remember her making peanut brittle for my sister and myself when we were little. Heaven gained a beautiful angel. ♥️
This is our final farewell to our beautiful loving mother, though her memory will live with us forever. Mum you were our morning star, you kept us on the right path throughout our lives many travels. You showered us with love and your wisdom and for that we will be forever grateful. So Mum thankyou for everything you gave to us all.
R.I.P. forever more.
Love Pam and Alan.
