Obituary of Bharat Kumar PATEL

Bharat Patel, beloved husband of Bena Patel, of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly at home on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 69 years.

Bharat was born in Thomson Falls, Kenya. As a teenager, his family moved to London, England. There, he pursued a Master’s in Applied Physics and became a Chartered Accountant. In 1981, Bharat and his wife, Bena, moved to Canada to pursue new adventures. Bharat had a successful career in accounting which was interspersed with many games of squash and travelling with his family. Bharat worked for Canada Revenue Agency for eighteen years. In 2002 Bharat joined Price Waterhouse Coopers in their Energy Tax Practice. He retired in September 2014.

Besides his loving wife, Bena, Bharat is survived by his sons, Amit (Emilie) and Sameer (Krupa). Bharat was an extremely loving father, brother, husband and friend. He will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
