Obituary of Dorothy WHITE

August 20, 1923 – Saint John, New Brunswick
December 13, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

On December 13, 2020, Dorothy White (nee Henderson) passed away peacefully at home at the age of 97 years.

Dorothy was born in Saint John, NB where she lived until she met her Navy sweetheart, Clinton White. Clinton and Dorothy were married on July 21, 1945 and she made the big move west to settle in Saskatchewan to raise their family. Dorothy and Clint lived in Weyburn, Moose Jaw and many years in Regina, before moving further west to Calgary in 2019 to be closer to family.

Dorothy was a devoted mother to Dewayne, Lois and Leanne. She later became Nanny to ten grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild, spoiling them all with her love and attention. Over the years she and Clinton enjoyed camping and traveling to visit family. She will always be remembered for her love for her family, love of dancing, devotion to Clinton and her never-ending sense of humour.

Left to mourn are her devoted husband of seventy-five years, Clinton White, daughter Leanne (Kent) Fraser; granddaughters, Carrie Kleppe, Christina (Jordan) McKinnon, Danielle (Dan) Bradnam, and grandson David (Andréanne) Fraser. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Logan Kleppe, Michael (Autumn) Palamar, Emily McKinnon, Jacob Bradnam, and great-great grandson Oscar Palamar. Dorothy is also survived by her brother Lloyd Henderson and the many nieces and nephews with whom she kept in contact through her weekly phone calls.
Dorothy was predeceased by her children, Dewayne in 2013, Lois in 2015, her daughter-in-law Laura in 2011; parents, Charles and Idella, brother Cecil and sister Winnie.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions a small service will be held in 2021. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed on Dorothy’s obituary at www.McInnisandHolloway.com. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to ShelterBox Canada at shelterboxcanada.org.
