Obituary of Trenton “Reid” SUTHERLAND

September 17, 1993 – Calgary, Alberta
December 7, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Reid was born in Calgary, AB on September 17th, 1993. He moved to Okotoks, AB in 1998 with his family and began his education at Big Rock Elementary School. Reid spent most of his teenage years living in Okotoks, where he established strong friendships with many people, which he still had upon the time of his passing.

After receiving his GED the summer of 2013, he attended post secondary education at both Vancouver’s Langara College and the University of Calgary. Reid was an incredibly intelligent and compassionate man. He was interested in philosophy, ethics, sociology, and linguistics, and he was passionate about human and animal rights. He loved dancing and creating music, satirising pop culture and legitimately being a hell of a smart ass. Reid spent the past four years working at IL Chianti Restaurant for Frank & Annette. They thought of Reid as a member of the The Family, and he in turn was very devoted and loyal to them.

Reid is survived by his mother Angela Sutherland of Cobble Hill, B.C, his father Terrace Sutherland of Calgary, AB, his sisters, Jessica (Nils) of Berlin, Germany, Jennifer (Steven) of Shawnigan Lake, B.C. and Brogan of London, England. He is also survived by his nieces, Laelith and Xylia of Shawnigan Lake B.C.; his extended family Timo Muller of Calgary, AB, Michelle (Jason) Titan, Mya of Okotoks, AB, and Ian (Jennifer) of Calgary, AB; as well as, a large number of aunts, uncles and cousins throughout western Canada
