Condolences
Uncle Dennis seemed to always have something funny to say and a smile at family get togethers.
I think that seeing his brothers always made him happy.
Thanks so much for doing the live stream and zoom chat so we could participate in this in a small
way.
My heart goes out to Toko, Izumi, Naomi and Jim, Ami,Fernando and Akira, Denise and Hiroshi. We send sincere
sympathy and pray you will know peace as you remember and honor the life of Dennis. I liked that idea
that the real living of all we are meant to be is completed in heaven. I can just hear the brothers singing
those hymns and exploring all the heavenly wonders, no fears about falling anymore.
Sincerely,
Janice and Steve

Our condolences to your family on Dennis' passing. Love, Mark Laser and family.
Dennis always made us laugh with his witty and sometimes cheeky remarks. We met at Alpha. He never let on that he had been a pastor. Just allowed my husband lead and he participated humbly, bringing dear Toku along the next term. Our Sat evening conversations at church were grace-filled whenever we happened to meet. The last time we visited Dennis last year he was cheerful as a lark, sharing with us God's Word from his beloved Bible. We thank the Lord for the blessing of his friendship and fellowship. May His peace and comfort be with Toku and the rest of the family.

Dear Aunt Tokuko,
I am so sorry to hear that Dennis passed away. I cannot imagine what you are going through right now and don't know what to say.
When I first met Dennis, I was a young child. He was always kind to me. He always spoke to me slowly in English because I could not speak it well. I remember his gentle personality at that time.
I'm sorry I cannot meet you right now. Please eat properly and take care of yourself.
I pray for Dennis's soul and your health.
(Teruka Tashiro, Tokuko's niece, Fukuoka, Japan)
Tokuko, I would like to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of your husband Dennis. I still remember his cheerful face when I met him in Calgary. I am sorry that Denise and Hiroshi cannot go back to Calgary because of Covid-19. I hope this situation will soon settle down and they can visit you. I pray for your health as you mourn the loss of your husband.
(Yuki Okuzono, Hiroshi's sister, Fukuoka, Japan)
I'll never forget your beautiful smile. Thank you for everything you have done for me. May your soul will be in peace.
(Chie Umeda, daughter of Dennis's niece)
As I walked out the house yesterday (Dec 15), snowflakes were coming down lightly and reminded me of my dad for some reason. So I listened to his favorite Book on life and wisdom on my commute and talked to him, voicing my gratitude for all he had taught me and given me. He loved nature and lived with respect for it, recycling and reusing long before it became a thing. Of course, we had our fights and differences, but all was forgiven in the end on both ends. As I thought about how we connected more as teacher colleagues than father/daughter, I remembered his years of commitment to education and his students. He lived a long 92 years. I feel peace because I know he is home in heaven at last. No more pain, sadness, Covid-19, but just peace, love, and joy. I love you, Dad. Now Rest In Peace with your Father. (Denise Epp)
