Obituary of Gladys Katherine MCDONALD

Gladys McDonald, of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 96 years.

Gladys was born in Castor, AB and grew up on the family farm near Scapa, AB. She came to Calgary in the 1940’s, where she met her husband Buck. Gladys and Buck lived in various locales in Alberta, settling in Calgary in 1965. Gladys’ busy life revolved around raising her six children. In later years Gladys worked as an accounting clerk. In retirement Gladys volunteered at St. Gerard’s Parish.

Gladys will be remembered as a loving mother to her two daughters and four sons, Bernie (Terry) Mitchell, Marg (Larry) Morandi, Terry (Karen) McDonald of Perth, Australia, Don McDonald, George McDonald, and John McDonald of North Vancouver, B.C. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Louise Blakey. Gladys was predeceased by her husband John (Buck) McDonald, her parents, George and Elizabeth Hausher; and brothers, Ervin and Ken.

Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, a Celebration of Gladys’ Life will be held at a later time.
