Obituary of Lindsay Gordon SAMUEL

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, our beloved Lindsay Samuel lost his battle with anxiety and depression, at the age of 28 years.

Lindsay was born in the Rockyview Hospital on December 2, 1992, to his birth parents Skye Matheson and Ryan Coleman. Their decision to let Jane Carstairs and Murray Samuel bring him into their family was one of the three great gifts they have received. 

Lindsay went to Varsity Acres School, Branton Junior High and William Aberhart High School. In 2019, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics from the University of Calgary. He fought so very hard to get past his doubts, and we will always remember how kind, smart, funny, generous, and committed he was. He loved cats and Dungeons and Dragons. He gave the best hugs. 

As long as we remember him he will be with us, and we will always remember him.  He was the best big brother to Alison and Catherine. He leaves behind his parents, Jane Carstairs and Murray Samuel; his aunt and uncle, Sue Carstairs and Tracy McNaught; uncle David Samuel, and aunt Patty Holmes, and cousins, Lewis and Elena; and his cousins, James and Olivia. He will be missed by birth mother Skye and all of the Mathesons, birth father Ryan Coleman, and his many friends, particularly Samantha Hefford, roommate Rebecca White, and Grace Baldwin and Mark Reynolds. He was predeceased by his uncle Iain Carstairs.
