December 16, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our dear son, father, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend Wacey Micheal Benjamin.

Wacey had an affectionate smile and a very high energy that had a huge impact on the people he met. He made many friends everywhere he went and was loved by all that he met. He was
full of life and always had something funny to say to make you laugh. He was always singing, dancing or dangling with his hockey stick. Wacey will always be remembered for his humor and
the silly stories that he had told to lighten the mood.

Wacey grew up on Stoney and Tsuut'ina First Nations and played hockey since he was 4 years old. He played for numerous hockey teams growing up such as Nakoda Wild, Stoney Minor Hockey, Tsuut’ina Nation and Southfour Hockey Association. He won various trophies, banners and medals throughout his life while playing in the Alberta Treaty Hockey and the Alberta Native Provincials tournaments.

Wacey’s shining light was his baby girl Lilymay Rose whom he named after his late Ena’s. He loved her to the moon and beyond. He always said that “we’ll always have a part of him living through her'' as she is a splitting image of her dad. Wacey was a cousin from All Nations!!
