Obituary of Noreen Isabelle Blanche PHILO

September 21, 1927 – Lumsden, Saskatchewan
December 7, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Our loving mother, Noreen Philo, passed away in Calgary, AB on Monday, December 7, 2020 at the age of 93.

She always saw the best in people and will be remembered for her kindness, empathy and willingness to try and make everyone’s lives better.

Noreen was born in Lumsden, SK, spending her childhood in Regina and later relocated to London, ON where she met and married her husband, James who passed away in 1990. Soon afterwards, she moved to Calgary in order to be closer to her family who she devoted her entire life to. 

Noreen is greatly missed by her son Geoffrey (Cindy) Philo, their two sons, Michael (Carey), Christopher Philo; and great-granddaughter Madeline. She is also mourned by daughter Janice Philo and great-granddaughters, Kate and Olivia. Noreen was very close to her brother James (Michelle) McCartney and to her sister Jacqueline Atherton. She was blessed with many nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada, the United States and England; as well as lifelong friends and neighbors, many of whom were as close as family. Noreen was predeceased by her sister Geraldine Long.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be no funeral service and interment will take place at Eden Brook Cemetery this spring.
