Obituary of Linda Mary MCNEIL

Linda McNeil of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020 at the age of 71 years.

Linda was a professional realtor for the last twenty-five years, and enjoyed treating all of her clients as family. She was involved in a variety of volunteer organizations, and one of her favourites was the Chamber of Commerce where she became a board member and befriended another female board member K.A. Pringle.  Shortly after Ms. Pringle passed away unexpectedly, Linda initiated a scholarship fund in K.A. Pringle’s name and personally pursued the funding for numerous scholarships to the U of C Continuing Education. Linda was an avid traveller and has seen, and enjoyed numerous countries. One time a few years back we had already spent two weeks in Hawaii when Colin had to return to Calgary, Linda asked if she could stay on in Maui and was expected back in a week or two, she stayed for six weeks and thoroughly enjoyed the break.

Besides her loving husband Colin McNeil, she is survived by four sisters, Helen, Nancy, Vera and Laurie, and an orange tabby, Maxfield – who provided an enormous amount of compassion and comfort during the last three to four years.

A Celebration Of Linda’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 4:30 p.m. Family and friends who are unable to attend in person, a recording of the service will be posted. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed here.

We would like to acknowledge the following medical personnel that guided, mentored and assisted Linda on her arduous journey with Cogans syndrome: Dr. Penny, Dr. Price, Dr. Kreptul, Dr. Kaminska, and Dr. Fouche, along with numerous others. Grateful thanks to the Mayo Clinic for initially diagnosing and starting treatment for her condition.
