It is said that there is a purpose for everyone you meet. Having the chance to work with Kuya Joe taught me more than just about caring for others. He also brought out the best in me without him knowing. For everyone at work and the residents he cared for, he was a quiet man with a calming energy; he speaks with a gentle, reassuring voice and has a highly sensitive nature. His work ethic is so immense to the point that I will start to feel inefficient when he’s my team partner. :D He told me to be open-minded and relentless in seeking for opportunities, if I want to hone my nursing skills.
He is the kind of person you will never need to ask for help, HE JUST KNOWS. I would say he is a great mind reader. He has this abundance of empathy and compassion that never wears off even when he works 7 days straight. His work is very personal for him and truly a spiritual calling. He is an instrument of God’s love more so to people with Dementia that he dedicated his life for them.
Kuya Joe, sorry if I made you stand and stare at the toaster for a long time while waiting for the bread to pop up but it never did. And you know why? Because I accidentally turned off the power switch. LOL
But the amazing part is, despite no one admitted to it, you did not get mad for missing your break. You just laughed about it!
We will miss you very much. -Anne V.
I remember Joe worked ng with my Dad at Bethany Riverview and all the while being cheerful and very respectful of him and all the residents. So sorry for your loss. You’ll be missed by your fellow staff members. Blessings to you and your family.
Manong Joe is not just a close friend, but became a brother and family. Manong joe, your memories will always linger in our hearts. You’ve always guided us in so many ways until your last breath you left a remarkable mark in our hearts. You are our Hero. We love you, dearly. Rest in Peace, manong Joe.
Kuya Joe, you are one of the nicest people I worked with. Working with you make the workload lighter. You never forget to wear your smile. Your sacrifice will not go in vain. Rest In Paradise Kuya Joe.
You’ve been a good kuya, tito and colleague. We will truly miss you and your big smile. I hope you are enjoying heaven with our dear God. Rest in peace.
