Juanita Campos passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2020, at the age of 94.

Juanita was born in Quiapo, Manila, Philippines. She married her late husband, Alfredo, and had many wonderful children. Despite losing Alfredo at a young age, she raised her children herself and showed tremendous resilience, and overcame adversity.  

Juanita immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1982 and settled in Calgary in 1996. While in Canada, she helped raise her grandchildren who lovingly called her ‘Nanay’. Although she was living in Canada, Juanita kept in close contact with her family in the Philippines as she cared about them very much. Juanita was fortunate to celebrate her 90th birthday in the Philippines with her extended family and friends which gave her such joy. 

Juanita was a devoted Catholic and was known for her kindness and generosity. She loved to socialize and had many friends. She enjoyed going on outings to the shopping mall and even to the casino! Juanita took pleasure in pampering herself and regularly had manicures and pedicures. 

Juanita will be lovingly remembered by her children Leopoldo (Lilia), Rogelio (Yang Yang), Corazon, Consuelo, Avelino, Reynalda (Ramon), Celedonia (Danilo), her son-in-law, Jaime and daughter-in-law, Baby. 

Juanita will also be forever remembered by her grandchildren, Lilineth (Noly), Louie (Ivy), Lilibeth (Jomar), Laurence (Bhev), Rommel (Myra), Rodnie (Alecks), Kenneth (Maurene), Jay (Jaymee), Jay (Nina), Jecke (Alicia), Jackie, Rizza (Rup), Herpreet (Mark), Mark (Ivy), Carla (Jul), Mico, Janeth (Michael), Jordana (Maynard), Joemar, Jaybelyn (Erwin), grandson-in-law Orlan, Paul (Anna), Katherine, Keyla, Terence, Maria, and Xavier.

Juanita will also be remembered by her thirty-five great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Juanita was predeceased by her parents Federico and Barcelisa, husband Alfredo, children Violeta, Joselito, Lourdes and Jimmy, brothers Antonio, Jesus, and Alberto, son-in-law Mario, and grand-daughter Jennifer. 

Juanita will be fondly remembered for being the most loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. 

Juanita lived a full life surrounded by love. She will be dearly missed and will remain in our hearts forever.
