December 16, 2020 - Calgary, Alberta

Charlaine (Char) Ann Cimolino of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the age of 79 years.

Charlaine was born July 2, 1941 in Vancouver to John Spencer and Elizabeth (Betty) Davies. Char was a driven and daring adventurist who lived life to its fullest. She wrote many chapters in her book of life and with her engaging personality she always had a smile for others. She stood up for what she believed in and stood up for others, especially young women. She believed in ‘Girl Power’ all throughout her life.  She graduated from Western Canada High School where she enjoyed being a cheerleader and belonging to a sorority. One of the highlights of her early career as a young woman was modelling for the The Hudson’s Bay Co and in New York with the Power Agency. One of her greatest accomplishments was masterminding ‘Student Flower Sales’ selling single red roses and employing students across Calgary, Edmonton and Lethbridge. She loved her son Cori and was passionate about all of her sports especially swimming, golf and skiing which she enjoyed at home, while living in Phoenix and travelling around the world. Her entertaining was legendary and her aptitude for real estate accentuated her ingenuity. Despite her long journey with Alzheimer’s, it will be hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember. She will be missed.

Charlaine will be lovingly remembered and missed by her son Cori Cimolino of Calgary, AB, and brother Garry Spencer of Gibsons, BC. She was predeceased by her ex-husband Ron Cimolino, who remained a very close friend until his death in 2014.
