Obituary of Garang “Cody” Deng AKOAR

Cody Akoar of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at the age of 20 years.

Cody was born in Cairo, Egypt on August 13, 2000. He moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 2002.

Cody graduated from Father Lacombe High School in  Calgary AB and accomplished much through his life , he  was particularly proud of his athletic achievements. Cody enjoyed, loved and, had a passion for basketball. He was a starter of the Lasers Basketball Team for Lacombe High School and he was a member of Team Alberta U16.

Cody will be most remembered for his sense of humour, positivity and, his support and love for friends and family.

He is survived by his father Deng Akoar, mother Amok Atak; his brothers Santino, Dimo, Marao, Machok, Malek; and his sister Adut Akoar.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Eastside, 5388 Memorial Drive NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 45 St SE, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, January, 9th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.  Graveside Service to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace.
