Obituary of Gordon Thomas Kennedy

May 30, 1950 – Toronto, Ontario
December 26, 2020 – Calgary, Alberta

Gord Kennedy, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020, in his home at the age of 70 years.

Gord was born in Toronto, ON on May 30, 1950. He moved to Calgary with his family as a young boy and attended high school in Bowness. Gord later met and married Rita (nee Ruck) and together they had one daughter Crystal Kennedy.

Gord was a very passionate man who was always ready for his next adventure. Whether it be driving across the country or spending his summers camping and fishing with family, friends or literally anyone who wanted to go fishing. He was such a people’s person; he fought for the underdog because he always saw the good in others. Gord was generous, even when he had nothing he always had something to give to others. The light of his life was his only daughter Crystal. He was the most amazing Dad and best friend to her.

Gord was well known in the automobile industry as he spent over forty years wheeling and dealing in Calgary. He will be fondly remembered by all those who had the privilege to know him.

Gord is survived by his wife Rita, daughter Crystal, sisters, Julie (Marv) Keyser, Barb Kennedy, Christine (Al) Davies, Sheila Kennedy; and brother Robbie (Sue) Kennedy of Calgary. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Doug.
