Obituary of Rita Marie Antoinette HARVEY

July 23, 1948 - Opasatika , Ontario

January 9, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that the family of Rita Harvey, announces her passing  on Saturday,  January 9, 2021 at the age of 72 years.

Rita was a fun-loving, generous person who put everyone first; a strong woman who furiously battled cancer four times. She was loved by all that met her and feared by all that played against her. She was an avid member of the over fifty club. Her other hobbies include knitting, baking, playing cards, and spending time with friends and family.

Her faith was strong as a member of the living springs Christian fellowship. We leave with a message from her prayer chain, “ Rita won the good fight and went to be with the Lord…. No more sorrow, no more suffering, just everlasting joy in the presence of the Lord. She will be missed but we rejoice with her and her homecoming.”

Rita is survived by her children, Kenneth Desormeaux and Paul Desormeaux (Tammy Gauthier) ; grandchildren, Megan, Kylean, Skye and Tyler; her grand dog Thor; her siblings. Lucian ( Pete) Harvey, Bob Harvey (Angela) , Claire Usher, Paulette Mitchell (Lauchie); and  sister-in-law Carmen.  She will be sadly missed and  lovingly  remembered by many nieces and nephews. To all that knew her “ Hugs and angels”.

Rita was predeceased by her parents, Antoinette and Fernand ; her brother Norm Harvey ; and brother-in-law Donald Usher.

In following with Rita’s wishes, no formal services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
